Kristin Gustashaw, MS, RDN, LDN, CSG, will discuss “Considerations for Your Nutritional Health with PSP, CBD, or MSA” during a CurePSP Ask the Expert webinar on March 22, 2023.

Kristin Gustashaw, MS, RDN, LDN, CSG, will discuss “Considerations for Your Nutritional Health with PSP, CBD, or MSA” during a CurePSP Ask the Expert webinar on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. The one-hour event begins at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time (noon Pacific).

While there is no specific diet for people diagnosed with progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), corticobasal degeneration (CBD), or multiple system atrophy (MSA), there are suggestions and considerations that may improve nutritional health.

In this webinar, Gustashaw, a certified specialist in gerontological nutrition with the CurePSP Center of Care at Rush University, will go beyond commercial supplements and discuss key nutrient-dense foods to be included in a weekly diet, including the MIND diet. (The MIND diet, which stands for Mediterranean-DASH Intervention for Neurodegenerative Delay, takes two proven diets – DASH and Mediterranean – and focuses on foods in each that improve brain health to potentially lower a person’s risk of mental decline.)

She will also cover strategies for staying hydrated, preventing unintentional weight loss, preserving muscles, and addressing constipation. Resources for dysphagia (swallowing difficulty) will also be discussed.

Any remaining time will be used for Q&A. You can submit questions when you register or send an email to events@curepsp.org

There is no cost to attend this webinar, however registration is required.
