10th International Conference on Frontotemporal Dementias (ICFTD) Reviewed Trial Results from First Round of FTD Therapeutics

The International Conference on FTD was held August 31st to September 2nd in Munich.

The International Conference on FTD was held August 31st to September 2nd in Munich. The meeting agenda included speaker presentations covering results from three clinical trials. While the initial results of the therapeutic interventions fell short of observable clinical benefit, the overall outlook was hopeful. “Now that we know the major pathways involved in [FTD], we know what to target and what to look for in trials,” said conference co-organizer Manuela Neumann of the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases. Conference presenters and attendees shared widespread agreement that FTD trials are becoming more rigorous and biomarker-based, improving the odds of seeing effective treatment.
