The Southwest Florida PSP Support Group Awareness and Memorial Walk is celebrating its 20th anniversary. This year’s event will be Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Frank E. Mackle Community Park on Marco Island, Florida.

Activities are scheduled on Saturday between 10:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Friday evening there will be a reception from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Seasons 52 in Naples, Florida, for walkers and CurePSP representatives to socialize with each other.

Welcoming words on Saturday will be given by Cindy MacDonald, Support Group Facilitator, and Dr. Kristophe Diaz, CurePSP Executive Director and Chief Science Officer. Other special guests from CurePSP will include:
Andy Maus, CurePSP Board Chair
Dr. Larry Golbe, Emeritus Professor of Neurology at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and CurePSP Chief Clinical Officer, chair of the Scientific Advisory Board, and member of the Board of Directors

Registration is $25 for adults and $10 for students. The fee includes lunch (burgers and hot dogs), a CurePSP T-shirt, and other items. Registrations submitted after March 1, 2023, may not receive the requested T-shirt size due to processing time.

Sponsored by the Southwest Florida PSP Support Group, the walk supports those affected by progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), corticobasal degeneration (CBD), and multiple system atrophy (MSA).

The purpose of the walk is to honor those who have passed on from these diseases, support those suffering now, educate the public, and raise money to help find a cure.

Each dollar donated will be matched up to $50,000. Proceeds fund research by Dr. Sally Temple at the Neural Stem Cell Institute, Dr. Chester Mathis at the University of Pittsburgh, and Dr. Neil Vasdev at the University of Toronto.
