Host
The celebration will be hosted by Tony Dokoupil, CurePSP ambassador and the Co-Host of “CBS This Morning.” Mr. Dokoupil lost his grandfather to PSP.
Prior to his current position, Mr. Dokoupil was a CBS News correspondent and a "CBS Sunday Morning" contributor. His reporting has appeared across all CBS News broadcasts and platforms. Since joining CBS News in 2016, he has interviewed a variety of major artists, entertainers, and newsmakers, including First Lady Hillary Clinton, comedy legend Steve Martin, and music superstar Dolly Parton.
Entertainment
Acute Inflections will provide simple and intoxicating jazzy, funky, and sultry music. Elasea Douglas, former Broadway singer, and Sadiki Pierre, bassist, are Acute Inflections. Reviewers describe them as “a velvety mix of Erykah Badu and Billie Holiday paired with the cool grooves of a 007 on bass.” While they are based in New York, they travel across the country performing for corporate events, weddings, and exclusive soirées. They’ve shared the stage with Jennifer Hudson, Keith Urban, and other notable artists, and their diverse repertoire includes Jazz, Top-40, and everything in between.
Awards
CurePSP will present awards to leaders in the field of neurodegeneration for their work in genetics, clinics, biomarkers, studies with patients, medicine, imaging, and more as it relates to PSP, CBD, and MSA. Their leadership efforts help advance the state of neurodegenerative research or care. Those being honored include:
- James Rowe at the University of Cambridge
- Günter Höglinger at Hanover Medical School in Munich, Germany
- Maria Stamelou at Hygeia Hospital in Athens, Greece
- Jerry Schellenberg at the University of Pennsylvania
- Bess Frost at the University of Texas
- Jori Fleisher at Rush University
Tickets
Everyone who donates, registers, or purchases an "Event Enhancement" add-on will be able to watch the event on CurePSP’s Facebook and YouTube pages.
Only those who register for a Celebration or a VIP ticket will be invited to the special interactive online platform the week of the event.
The event will be recorded, and the video will be emailed to all who register.
Each Celebration ticket has a value of $45; however thanks to donors, CurePSP is able to offer them at no cost to attendees. If you would like to support CurePSP's efforts, you can make a gift here.
VIP tickets are sent to the guests of anyone who purchases or sponsors a virtual cocktail table on the interactive online platform, like the Celebration Ticket. They are specially coded to a specific table, and each ticket comes with an optional curated "Party in Place" box for the guest. These tickets are only revealed through a special link emailed from a staff member to the buyer of the table to send to their guests.
Interactive Platform
The interactive online platform will enable attendees to join different public virtual cocktail tables, to mingle with other guests and sponsors, to join the main session, to watch with other participants, and to use the virtual photo booth to upload pictures into a digital photo mosaic.
Virtual Cocktail Tables
Watch the live stream with friends, family, and coworkers at a private virtual cocktail table. Each virtual cocktail table allows for ten video participants, and each table can be branded with an optional logo. Choices include an open table for networking or a private table for a special group.
A speaker, awardee, or board member may drop in to say hello and share a toast with a table.
Cocktail tables are available at registration checkout for $1,000 each and include 10 VIP tickets. VIP tickets come with an optional curated "Party in Place" box. A special link will be emailed from a CurePSP staff member to the buyer of the table to send to their guests to register for the hidden VIP ticket.
The deadline to purchase a table is Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. EST.

Digital Mosaic
The digital mosaic is a unique, transformative graphic that uses multiple images. CurePSP is asking people affected by primary progressive aphasias (PSP) to upload pictures of themselves, volunteers, and loved ones from the past 30 years for a dramatic reveal at the end of the celebration event!
Use the hashtag #CurePSP30 on a photo posted to a public Twitter or Instagram account or text your picture to the phone number +1 201-754-5274. Deadline is by the end of the event on December 7. Pictures will automatically be uploaded to create the graphic.
Additionally, the uploaded photos and digital mosaic will be used promotionally by CurePSP. The mosaic will be available on YouTube after the event.
Sponsorships
CurePSP is seeking sponsors for this and other events. Share your strategy and current plans and work together to develop custom programs following any budget size. You can view the sponsorship prospectus here.
