A conversation with Dr. Alexander Pantelyat on music and movement disorders

Music and movement disorders will be the topic at CurePSP’s “Ask the Doctor” webinar on Tuesday, August 11, 2020. This session will feature Alexander Pantelyat, M.D., who wrote, "Music Therapy and Music-Based Interventions for Movement Disorders." The webinar begins at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (11:00 a.m. Pacific).

Dr. Pantelyat is a leading expert in progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), Parkinson's disease (PD), corticobasal degeneration (CBD), multiple system atrophy (MSA), and related movement disorders. In addition to his paper on the promising use of music and rhythm-based interventions for gait impairment, other motor symptoms, and non-motor symptoms, he is an accomplished violinist. He believes that music can be an integral part of treating illness and can be incorporated into therapies to improve the quality of life for patients.

This webinar will be moderated by Joanna Teters, CurePSP’s community outreach and resource manager. Questions can be submitted in advance to her at info@curepsp.org or through the registration link.
