CurePSP Wellness Workshop: Holistic Wellness for PSP, CBD & MSA April 19, 2023
Discover new self-care techniques and interact with others who are searching for ways to maintain wellness during a CurePSP virtual workshop on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, from noon to 3:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (9:00 a.m. Pacific).
Wellness Workshop: Holistic Wellness for PSP, CBD, and MSA will help you learn lifestyle changes that can have the greatest impact on your overall health.
This year's Wellness Workshop offers educational presentations related to holistic wellness, finding time for self-care, breathwork, seated movement, and music therapy.
Following the presentations, participants will break out into interactive discussion groups to connect with other attendees, talk through the subjects covered during the workshop, and reflect on what wellness means to them.
There is no charge for this workshop.
All sessions will be recorded and posted on the CurePSP YouTube channel after the event.

- 12:00 p.m. – 12:05 p.m. Welcome and Opening Remarks
Speaker: Joanna Teters - 12:05 p.m. – 12:35 p.m. Thriving Through the Constantly Changing Journey of PSP, CBD, and MSA
Speaker: Janet Edmunson
Janet Edmunson will share insights to support those who have day-to-day and emotional difficulties associated with PSP, CBD, and MSA. As a caregiver and support group facilitator, she has experience in adjusting to evolving symptoms and lifestyle changes, prioritize self-care for better sleep and well-being and discover the gifts throughout this journey. - 12:35 p.m. – 1:05 p.m. Seated Movement & Breathwork
Speaker: Lonnie Poland, PT
Seated movement and breathwork are wonderful ways for those with mobility limitations to maintain a mind-body connection. Lonnie Poland, PT, will share her expertise on the practice of gentle seated movement, conscious breathing, and mindfulness awareness. - 1:05 p.m. - 1:40 p.m. Break
- 1:40 p.m. – 2:10 PM: Music Therapy
Speakers: Kerry Devlin, MMT, LPMT, MT-BC, and Kyurim Kang, PhD, LPMT, MT-BC, NMT
Participants will learn how music therapy can support physical and psychosocial wellness. Presenters will demonstrate a wide range of music experiences, tools, and music-based exercises for use at home. - 2:10 p.m. - 2:15 p.m. Closing Remarks
Speaker: Jessica Shurer, MSW, LCSW - 2:15 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Interactive Discussion Groups via Zoom
During these discussion groups, you can connect with other event attendees, talk through workshop-related topics, and reflect on what wellness has meant to you throughout your disease journey.
CurePSP encourages everyone affected by PSP, CBD, and MSA to focus on many different aspects of wellness throughout their disease journey. This includes caring for your physical, mental, emotional, social, and intellectual needs.
