The Rainwater Foundation, Alzheimer’s Association, and CurePSP are co-sponsoring the Tau2020 Global Conference, an open, international gathering in Washington, D.C. on February 12-13, 2020. Cost is $150 for professionals and $75 for students.
The Tau2020 Conference is a unique opportunity to move tau research forward. Representatives from academia, industry, government, and the philanthropic sector will come together to discuss key issues impacting the tau community, including:
- Expanding awareness of recent advances in tau research.
- Increasing support for research and emerging researchers.
- Fostering global partnerships among academia, industry and other stakeholders.
The conference will feature three plenary sessions led by experts in the field:
- “Tau Therapeutics: Translational Challenges in Moving From Bench to Bedside” with Adam Boxer, M.D., Ph.D., University of California, San Francisco
- “Tau Research: History and Current Status” with Jean-Pierre Brion, M.D., Ph.D., Free University of Brussels
- “What Genetic and Functional Studies Have Taught Us About the Role of MAPT in Neurodegeneration” with Alison Goate, D.Phil., Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York City
There will be additional sessions and panel discussions on the following topics:
- Tauopathies
- Tau Imaging
- Genetics and Tauopathies
- Molecular Mechanism for Therapeutic Approaches
- Tau Therapeutics
Lunch on Thursday, February 13 will feature the Rainwater Prize Ceremony and keynote addresses from the winners.
