In recognition of World FTD Awareness Week 2021, World FTD United will release a video on Saturday, October 2, 2021, in which people from around the world will share short clips and stories to provide education and spread awareness about frontotemporal degeneration (FTD).
The video — a Global Conversation on FTD — contains more than four hours of detailed information and perspectives from people representing all aspects of the FTD community, including persons diagnosed, their families and care partners, health professionals, and researchers.
The purpose was to capture the lived experience of FTD, offer care and support strategies, and share reasons for hope.
An international coalition of organizations and health professionals who provide support for caregivers and all those affected by this disorder, World FTD United organized the first World FTD Awareness Week in 2016. Currently, 15 countries are represented in the group: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Columbia, France, India, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, The Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
World FTD United provides a forum for FTD caregiver organizations, FTD advocates, and health professionals to communicate and share ideas. The other important goal is to raise awareness about FTD throughout the world.
